• On Friday, April 19, at 6:45 p.m., Antioch Baptist Church has the Seven Sayings From the Cross, Seven Songs and Seven Sermons and singing by the Morrison Sisters. Cleveland Heights Baptist Church has a homecoming service on Sunday, April 28, during the morning worship service. There will be a special singing from One Man Quartet, the evangelist is Johnny “The Baptist” Campbell and the pastor is Brother Bruce Headrick. Everyone is welcome.

• A community-wide Good Friday service is at The Recreation Place, a ministry of ChristChurch EPC, in Dalton on April 19 at 6:30 p.m. The service is a Tenebrae Service and is a collaboration of several area churches that will feature a community choir as well as soloists, duets and ensembles from various churches. The Tenebrae Service, meaning “Shadows," is based on a traditional late night/early morning Good Friday service observed by Christians since the 12th century. This unique service will remember Jesus Christ’s death and sacrifice through Scripture readings and song. The Recreation Place is at 510 S. Tibbs Road. • The community is invited to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ at ChristChurch Presbyterianof Dalton on Sunday, April 21, for the 10:30 a.m. Easter worship service. Riverbend Church of Christ opens a benevolent house each Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for area residents in need. Individuals can choose from a variety of clothing, shoes, household items and more at no charge. The ministry is in the white house beside the church building at 2218 S. Riverbend Road. To donate items, drop them off during operating hours or leave them on the front porch. Tax receipts are available.

• Lent is a 40-day period leading to Easter Day, and all Christians are invited to “the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.” To assist with this observance, all are cordially invited to a daily Lenten evening prayer service being offered at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Dalton through Wednesday, April 17. This daily service is at 6:15 p.m. and is led by St. Mark’s parishioners. It lasts approximately 20 minutes.

• Trinity United Methodist Church has its annual spring yard sale today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Organizers say "There will be lots of good items for sale at great prices so plan on coming to get the bargains." The church is at 901Veterans Drive.

 • Christians Under Construction, a practical, biblical discussion of Christian living, meets each Friday at 7 p.m. at True Gospel Holiness Church. The facilitator is Elder Randell O’Neal. • On Sunday at 3 p.m., True Gospel Pentecostal Churchwelcomes District Elder Elijah Carter and Christ Temple Church from Cartersville. • True Gospel Pentecostal Church has a Good Friday mid-day service on April 19 at noon. The Concerned Clergies will speak on "The Seven Sayings of Jesus While on the Cross." • The United Methodist Men of Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church will have their 18th Annual Supper and Singing on Saturday, April 27, with the Emmaus Road Quartet and The Hullender Family. The meal will be hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dessert and drink. Supper will be served from 4:30 to 6:45 p.m. Singing will begin at 7.
