The University of North Georgia announced degrees and certificates awarded for the fall 2018 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises on Dec. 15, 2018.

• Michael Ary of Chatsworth, associate of arts in business administration

• Ashlee Patton of Cisco, bachelor of science in mathematics

• Haley Reece of Rocky Face, bachelor of business administration in marketing

• Dylan Richards of Dalton, bachelor of business administration in accounting, cum laude

• Juan Velasquez Tercero of Dalton, associate of arts in business administration with distinction

• Erica Wilson of Crandall, bachelor of arts in English/lit concentration

More than 600 students received their degrees at UNG's two fall commencement ceremonies at the Convocation Center on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.

In ceremonies held Dec. 15, 2018, at the University of North Georgia, 25 graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard.

Dylan J. Richards of Dalton earned a degree in accounting and commissioned in the National Guard-Armor. Richards' parents are Del and Holly Richards. The new officer graduated from Northwest Whitfield High School in 2014.

University of North Georgia (UNG) President Bonita C. Jacobs recognized students who achieved a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2018 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The deans of each of the University of North Georgia's five colleges -- the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics -- announced the students who made their respective lists for fall 2018.

Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.
