One school day as the bell struck 3:30 p.m., Dalton High School JROTC cadets gathered their belongings and headed over to begin Field Day.
Field Day consists of many activities such as the relay, balloon toss and a pie-eating contest. These events were held in the gym and out in the field.
Every year this event is planned for cadets to relieve themselves from stress, to interact with one another and to know the importance of teamwork. This type of event helps motivate the young cadets from the Catamount Battalion to stay out of trouble and have something to look forward to all year long.
Our Field Day isn't like any other field day, this Field Day is an overnight one. After a long day of activities, cadets have an option to go for a swim or go to the gym and play basketball or volleyball. Lights out for everyone as the first night comes to an end, as the next day the real competition begins. All of the cadets are put in teams by grade level and compete against one another.
The team that won this year's Field Day was Seniors. After a long day of competition, the cadets were released to their parents and enjoyed the rest of their weekend.
