Specialized resources is topic for Children's Institute family class

The Anna Shaw Children's Institute (ASCI), at 1201 Burleyson Road, holds a family support class on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Southern Magnolia Rooms on first floor of the facility. The topic is "Introduction to Specialized Resources."

This class is part of ASCI's CHAMP series. CHAMP stands for Classes to Help, Advise and Motivate Parents. The sessions are held each month. The CHAMP series is open to families of children of any age.

Jessica Truelove, registered nurse/nurse navigator, and Jennifer Bray, social worker, will present the class, which will include information on resources such as grants, waivers and other aids to help families receive treatment, therapy and equipment.

Register by calling (706) 226-8911. Space is limited. Childcare is available for the first 10 families requesting the service.

Participants are encouraged to park in the lower lot since the upper doors will be locked by 6 p.m.
