If you’ve avoided the age of technology this long, that is amazing. But it’s not something to brag about. Computers are fantastic entertaining machines that can make life easier at work and play. The superhighway of information is out there, and it’s time to merge onto it. Computer Basics for Rookies is the perfect class for absolute beginners and is being offered by the Dalton State College Center for Continuing Education beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to program coordinator Kelly Snyder.

This interactive course will get computer novices started and beyond, Snyder said. Popular CE instructor Stephanie Polen will patiently guide students as they learn how to use the Internet, download and open files, send and receive e-mails, use search engines like Google, and learn computer terminology.

“Students will exit this course with newfound confidence and a variety of useful computer skills,” she said. “This course is designed for beginners, so there is no reason for anyone to feel nervous or intimidated.”

Stop procrastinating and heed the call into cyberspace, Snyder encouraged, adding, “The computer won’t ‘byte’ you!” Those wishing to register or find out more are invited to log on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce or call (706) 272-4454. Class size is limited.
