Dalton High production earns accolades at region competition

Despite numerous setbacks and challenges along the way, the 2020-21 Dalton High School one-act competition play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" won first runner-up at the Georgia High School Association Region 5 Class 6A One-Act Competition at Carrollton High School on Jan. 30. Senior Jacob Byerts was named Best Actor at the competition for his role as Nick Bottom, and juniors Ariana Avila (Oberon) and Linda Olvera-Jones (Puck) were named to the region competition's all-star cast. In addition, the high school's one-act was chosen to be a featured production at the 2021 Virtual Georgia Thespians Conference Feb. 25-27.
