A Chatsworth man was arrested Friday after children told police he approached them, began speaking to them and then touched them while touching himself in a sexual manner.
Jeffrey Bramblett, 54, of 176 Mountain Oak Drive, is being held without bond in the Whitfield County jail and is scheduled for a bond hearing in Superior Court today. The Dalton Police Department charged Bramblett with two counts of aggravated child molestation, three counts of public indecency, sexual battery, public drunkenness, loitering/prowling and open container violation.
According to Assistant Police Chief Chris Crossen, a juvenile witness who was holding a younger child said Bramblett approached them in the parking lot of a residential complex. While talking to them, the witness said Bramblett inappropriately touched two of the children.
An incident report said Bramblett was found with his zipper undone and smelled of alcohol. When officers took him to the jail, the report said Bramblett registered a .148 on a breath alcohol tester. The legal limit to drive a vehicle in the state is .08.
