This is a photo of a man who police say shoplifted a hoverboard from a store in the Dalton mall.

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who shoplifted a hoverboard from a store in the mall.

The theft happened just before noon on Saturday at the Gadgets store in the Dalton Mall at 816 Walnut Square Blvd. The suspect walked into the store’s entrance and appeared to look at the display of Hoverway Maxx hoverboards, valued at $150. After looking toward the back of the store, apparently looking for store employees, the man picked up a green hoverboard and walked out of the store.

The suspect is a black male who wore jean shorts and a red and blue jacket over a white shirt and a red baseball cap. The suspect had a mustache and wore glasses and a pair of sneakers that did not appear to be self-lacing.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect or has any other information about this incident is asked to please contact Officer Jonathan Parson at (706) 278-9085, ext. 9594, or by email to jparson@daltonga.gov.
