An investigation into photos of a minor on a website led to the discovery of compromising photos of an adult female, officials said.
David Lee Staten, 34, of 579 Ridley Road, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff's Office with two counts of electronic transmission/posting of video or photo depicting nudity or sexually explicit conduct without consent.
According to Detective Brett Morrison with the sheriff's office, the mother of the minor in another jurisdiction discovered photos of a 32-year-old female.
"The victim here was notified by the mother of a juvenile victim in another jurisdiction," he said. "They found out that this juvenile's pictures had been posted on this website and so the mom looked at it and she saw pictures of the victim here in this case. She knew her personally, so she notified her that her pictures were on there."
Morrison said Staten "legally possessed them (the photos), but when he transmitted them electronically without her consent that was a crime."
Morrison said Staten was not the subject of or involved in the original investigation into the photos of the minor.
Staten remained in the Murray County jail on Thursday.
