The Georgia Tamale Festival, originally planned for Saturday, has been rescheduled for Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Georgia Fairgrounds.

“We decided it would be better timing at the end of August,” said Andrea Dobbins of the United Way of Northwest Georgia.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit more than 20 nonprofit agencies through the local United Way. Events will include a Tamale Cook-Off, Jalapeno Eating Contest and the Georgia Tamale Pageant.
