Whitfield County Public Works repaves Dalton Convention Center parking lot

Mitch Talley

Visitors to the Dalton Convention Center may have noticed a fresher look and a smoother ride, thanks to the efforts of the Whitfield County Public Works paving crew over the past several weeks. Workers (Bo Evans and Clyde Williams) just finished paving nearly the entire parking lot in mid-May, and Phillip White then used a new machine to apply striping for parking spots. Officials expect the new pavement to last for at least 15 to 20 years. Meanwhile, the old pavement, which had been ground off using the county's milling machine, continues to serve a purpose, too, as crews spread the remnants on overflow parking lots at the center.
