A 33-year-old Murray County man was arrested Monday by the Chatsworth Police Department on warrants dating to 2016 for reportedly sending inappropriate photos and "sexual messages" to a 16-year-old girl through Facebook Messenger, according to an incident report.
James Michael Sexton, of 615 W. Peachtree St. in Chatsworth, was charged with four counts of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors. He is being held in the Murray County jail without bond.
The mother of the 16-year-old girl told a Murray County Sheriff’s Office deputy in February of 2016 about the photos and messages, according to the incident report. Copies of the photos and messages were made and turned over to a detective, and the mother was told to save all of the photos and messages.
Sheriff's office Chief Deputy Jimmy Davenport said warrants were taken out for Sexton’s arrest but deputies were unable to find him to serve the warrants. Chatsworth police officers encountered Sexton on Monday during a traffic stop and he was arrested.
