"Normal people are tired of being told they're racist, homophobic, transphobic or whatever just because they don't agree with something someone else has to say, especially when that someone has an unfathomable amount of money like athletes or has everything handed to them on a silver platter like celebrities."

"I agree with the reader who gave up watching 'My Cousin Vinny' for the CNN Democratic debates. It was entertaining. Only thing missing was the theme song 'Bring in the Clowns' and the grand entrance with the clown car."

"My accomplishments in life have been so insignificant I’d believe a con man to make my life worthwhile. I’ll watch 'My Cousin Trump' on Fox."

"I see no hope for the Democrats after the debate last night. That is a good thing for our country."

"I’m proud of Johnny Jones. He is a good-hearted guy who deserves the best."

"Local veteran being used by propaganda organ to spew hatred doesn't have quite the same ring to it, huh?"

"Just to be fair to our local Hispanic population, can we get some murals depicting Hispanic items on buildings downtown? Maybe some of the championship soccer players?"

"In reading the story about the pending lawsuit against Varnell it seems to be nothing more than an opportunity to make some money for the attorney and his client."

"To the person looking for someone to repair their grandfather clock, try JR's Clock Repair in Tunnel Hill, (706) 224-0115."

"Yet another example of the county commission's poor execution of the citizens SPLOST committee process. The first meeting is to be held this month yet the county commissioners have yet to name their members or the first meeting date. Doesn't show respect for the citizens who are willing to serve and may have vacation plans or may be away on business travel or are having a knee replacement! Would you want these people running your project?"

"What is it with parking in this town? People seem to be terrified of going any place if they can't touch the bumper of their car and the front door of the building at the same time."

"This is in response to the person who said there is plenty of available spaces to park at Harmon Field across from Dalton's Rotary Park. Why should my granddaughter and her three friends with eight little ones in tow have to park across a two-lane street and push a stroller, not to mention holding the hands of toddlers all the while carrying blankets, food and drink, just so those who wish to can make the spaces their personal spots? Not one person was in the park and we have seen the same vehicles parked there. It seems as if they do not want people using the park."

"Vote Democratic in the 2020 presidential election so we can all live in the downtown Dalton tent city."

"Know any good political jokes other than the 20 Democrats running for president? I don't either."

"The Democrats are pulling for a $15-an-hour minimum wage and they're not thinking of the millions of senior citizens on fixed incomes. Everything will go up in cost, our income will not change. Our lives will be turned upside down by this $15-an-hour minimum wage."
