Today's Forum for Jan. 29

"Thank you to the caller for almost getting it right. The caller mentioned Russian collusion, Stormy Daniels and the Ukraine. What the caller missed was that those were all things that were Trump’s doing. The Democrats just addressed them, as should have the Republicans. So close!"

"If you want better test scores, get better parents."

"The key to this impeachment hearing is listening to testimony objectively and voting on information provided. Acting ethically should be the baseline for reelection, not party-line politics. This goes for both sides of the aisle."

"The Whitfield County commissioners are going to commit to ignoring state law? That should be fun to watch."

"Kudos to our elected officials for getting the tax and spend SPLOST on the primary election in May. We get a larger voter turnout without the expenses of the favored special election."

"So the proposed $66 million, four-year SPLOST is basically the $100 million, six-year SPLOST, which was soundly defeated, minus the expensive new county buildings. Without money for new buildings, the county commissioners were forced to do what they should have done in the first place which was lease space in a very suitable downtown building and save us taxpayers millions. Wonder what other money-saving opportunities exist in that $66 million?"

"All right, you've convinced me. I'm not going to vote for Hunter Biden in this election."

"I was at the new Peeples Cancer Center. It is an amazing facility. It's beautiful. Everyone is very nice. We're so lucky to have such a place in Dalton. I'd like to thank all of those involved for putting such a wonderful place together."

"Why is the person that invests your money called a broker?"

"After watching some of the impeachment hearings, I think the Democrats have made fools of themselves."

"Dick Polman's political views are so absurd they're funny. He should be doing standup comedy."

"What does that boy's hair have anything to do with him graduating? Hair has nothing to do with his mentality. He deserves to graduate with the rest of them. Granted, there is a lot of hair there but it should have nothing to do with him graduating. Would they do that if someone's hair was colored blue or pink or whatever? Or shaved halfway off? I wonder if they would make such a big fuss. I say the young man should be able to graduate."

"If you don't love your neighbor you don't love God."

"I'd like to thank the lady and her sweet husband at Walmart for paying for my medicine. It was a godsend. Thank you and God bless you."

"To those Forum readers who are complaining about a teacher raise, remember there is more to education than a test score. When have you last been involved in your child's education? Why not base your pay, instead of an hourly wage, on the quality of the product at the end of the line?"

"In my opinion, the last really good president we had was Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower was a good president because he had no personality. He just showed up every day and got something done. It was before the media had become so invasive and pervasive and before they could actually create the personality. Because of that it was made possible that such a person could actually become president. That goes to the heart of the mess that is playing out in the media right now."
