Today's Forum for Nov. 9

"An attorney making hundreds of dollars an hour encouraged the city to go to court over the service delivery agreement. I wonder what his motivation is for dragging this out. I wonder if this waste of money at least partly cost Mock the election."

"No extension? Are you people insane? You have absolutely no regards for the citizens that pay taxes and your salary!"

"So Lynn Laughter and Dennis Mock played chicken and neither swerved at the last minute. What were they thinking? Clearly not about the taxpayers."

"Thanks to Mayor Mock for all the hard work he did to get us out of the hole his predecessor left us in. Dalton is better than ever!"

"What is so dishonest and dangerous is the Republican attack on the Constitutional process- lynching, indeed. Republicans know Trump has broken the law and his actions are indefensible. Patriots would impeach."

"Oh yes, what a treat in Wednesday’s paper to once again read David Bean's one-sided opinions on politics! If you’re not a Democrat you’re nowhere near as smart as he is. Does he work for the Daily Citizen-News? If not, he sure gets a lot of press."

Editor's note: No, Bean doesn't work for the newspaper. Per our letters to the editor policy, he's allowed to write a letter every 30 days.

"The Mueller report says 'collusion is not a specific offense or theory of liability found in the United States Code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law. For those reasons, the Office's focus in analyzing questions of joint criminal liability was on conspiracy as defined in federal law.' Maybe you should read it instead of accepting someone else's summary."

"Mexico still isn't paying for the wall and the deficit has doubled since Trump took office. How's that economic anxiety doing these days?"

"I don't understand all of the hate for our great president. He is doing exactly what he told us he would do. If people would get out of the way and let him thrive, this country would once again be the shining star of the entire world."

"Why are the Republicans bragging so much about how great the economy is and the tax cuts. Our country has a record setting national debt and still growing. Who's going to pay for that? Hourly wages are at an all-time low. Yes, people are working some two jobs to make ends meet. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Yes, a great economy for the rich!"

"Trump wants to know the identity of the whistleblower because he can't defend his actions, so he has to attack the messenger. Simple as that."

"Way to go, Walter! Walter Williams' column on proportionalities was totally on target. As he points out in his inimitable style, expecting everything in life to proportionally follow racial percentages is ludicrous. I think proportionality is just another word for quotas, and, as we all know, quotas are not based on selecting the most qualified. How would you feel if, regardless of your race, the only reason you lost a job was because you would put the 'racial proportionality' out of whack?"

"Trump resorts to name-calling on national TV because that's just the way a bully does. That's all he has ever known.''
