Today's Forum for Nov. 28

Editor's note: Today on Thanksgiving, we are re-publishing comments from throughout the year that expressed thankfulness or gratitude. We could all use a break from the political talk. Happy Thanksgiving!

"I would like to thank whoever bought my and my wife's lunch at Steak 'n Shake on Christmas Eve. That's the first time that's ever happened to us and it was very nice. Thanks from an old vet."

"I am so happy. I just woke up to the most beautiful sight. God sent us sunshine today. What a beautiful, beautiful sight. Thank you, Lord."

"Thank you to everyone in our community who donated items for our Homeless Care Kit project. We were able to make 80 adult kits, 23 girl and 23 boy kits, plus we had several boxes of clothing and blankets that wouldn't fit in the kits! The City of Refuge is distributing them for us. Sincerely, the fifth-grade ALPHA (gifted) class of Cedar Ridge Elementary."

"We lost a Christmas ornament bin when it fell off of our trailer. A young man from Murray County, Chris Harton, who is a photographer, found it. He researched our name and location and delivered the bin to our home. The bin contained 54 years of precious memories for our family. We are so thankful to have it returned to us. A special thank you to this man for his act of kindness."

"I'd like to thank the couple that paid for my cup of coffee at the Smile store."

"Thank you to the gentleman who was cleaning up the trash on Foster Road Monday. I would have joined you but had kids to care for."

"I just love Matt Hamilton! His photos lift my spirit. These ballplayers at Mack Gaston are priceless. And so many previous photos."

"I want to thank the nice young lady who paid for my breakfast at Bojangles' in Chatsworth Thursday morning. That was special. It made my day. Thank you so much."

"I want to thank the young lady who bought my lunch Tuesday at The Engine Room. I thanked her then and I thank her now."

"I'd like to thank the people that planned and built the new shopping center on Walnut Avenue where the old Kmart was. Good job, guys."

"To our local Islamic community, please know that you are loved and welcome."

"I want to thank the couple with two little cute boys for paying for mine and my friend's dinner Friday at Tijuana's. His jacket said he was employed by Dalton Utilities. I'm 89 years old and in my lifetime my meal has been paid for twice, both times at Tijuana's in downtown Dalton."

"Thanks to the gentleman who paid for my mother's haircut at Great Clips in Eton this past Saturday. She was so surprised when she went to pay.''

"I would like to give a shoutout to Officer Tyler Hammontree with the Dalton Police Department for the 2 a.m. call to rescue my big, old granddog after falling into the well of my fish pond. There are not enough words to thank him for his compassion for old Tellico after hours in the cold morning."

"Hometown companies are the greatest! A big thanks to Tony Bearden of Bearden Industrial Supply and his employees, David and Chuck. They went above and beyond in helping me with a problem recently. Many thanks from a very satisfied customer."

"I want to thank the gentleman with the Braves cap on at the Dollar General store on 41 South for paying for my groceries on Saturday evening. Thank you so much for your kindness. God bless you."
