Northwest Whitfield’s wrestling team went 3-1 on Saturday to finish second among eight squads at the Sequoyah Duals tournament .

The Bruins beat Sequoyah B (49-15), Riverdale (77-4) and Dunwoody (68-0) to win their pool, but lost 59-17 to Seqouyah A in the championship match.

“We knew Sequoyah would be tough,” Bruins coach Allen Tucker said. “We ended up giving up pins in some late matches that were close because we were trying to win it. The match against Sequoyah A doesn’t reflect the way we wrestled.”
