Dalton High School running back Jahmyr Gibbs will be featured among the nation's 100 top players as he plays Saturday in the All-American Bowl — an all-star game played annually in San Antonio, Texas. NBC will televise the game at 1 p.m.
Gibbs has been in San Antonio this week practicing for the showcase game. Today, he will suit up for the East team and wear No. 22. He was one of six finalists for the All-American Bowl Player of the Year award, which was given to five-star Alabama quarterback signee Bryce Young on Friday night.
For the second straight year, Gibbs was named the Daily Citizen-News Football Player of the Year after he racked up 2,554 yards rushing, 40 touchdowns rushing one more score on a 97-yard kickoff return during his senior season.
He has verbally committed to Georgia Tech but has not signed a letter of intent to play football there. He is rated as a four-star prospect by football recruiting services.
