Christian Heritage 42, Pinecrest 25

In the opening round of the Region 6-A tournament on Monday, the Lady Lions topped Pinecrest, 42-25. Christian Heritage plays Mt. Paran today at 5:30 p.m. in the second round.

For the Lady Lions, Haddie Chambless scored 11 points, Ansley Adkins went for nine points and Madison Brown pitched in seven points.

Christian Heritage moved to 17-5, 10-3 Region 6-A.

Northwest Whitfield 60, Ridgeland 19

The Lady Bruins defeated Ridgeland, 60-19, in the first round of the Region 6-4A tournament at Southeast Whitfield. Northwest next plays Pickens on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the region semifinals at Southeast.

For the Lady Bruins, McKenzie Brueckner led the team with 17 points, Tionna Baker went for 15 points and four assists, Callie White scored seven points and Emma Allen grabbed eight rebounds.

Northwest is now 19-7, 11-2 Region 6-4A.

Pickens 70, Southeast Whitfield 53

The Lady Raiders fell to Pickens in the first round of the Region 6-4A tournament at Southeast on Monday, 70-53.

The loss ended Southeast’s season.

For the Lady Raiders, Avery Woodson had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Stephanie Sullivan scored 10 points, Madison Powell went for six points and nine rebounds and Erandy Reyes contributed five points and seven rebounds.

Southeast finished the season 6-20, 2-11 Region 6-4A.
