Several area cross country team competed at the Whitfield County Cross Country Championship on Thursday at Grove Level North Park in Dalton.

Coahulla Creek High School took first place in the boys race as a team, while Dalton placed first as a girls team. Top finishing teams for the boys also included Dalton; second place, Southeast Whitfield; third place and Northwest Whitfield; fourth place. Other top finishing teams for the girls included Southeast Whitfield; second place, Coahulla Creek; third place and Northwest Whitfield; fourth place.

The top 10 individual finishers for the boys race were Lane Hollis (Coahulla Creek) -- 17:50; first, David Huchinson (Dalton) -- 18:33; second, Axel Salaices (Southeast) -- 18:43; third, Victor Soria -- (Dalton) 18:50; fourth, Harris Gallegly (Coahulla Creek) -- 18:51; fifth, Noah Aguilar (Southeast) -- 18:55; sixth, Sean Marsh (Coahulla Creek) -- 19:04; seventh, Tanner Rape (Coahulla Creek) -- 19:19; eighth, Devin Edwards (Coahulla Creek) -- 19:30; ninth and Andrew Stamper (Coahulla Creek) -- 19:39; tenth.

Top finishers for the girls race were Kaylee Bandy (Coahulla Creek) -- 20:24; first, Giselle Dominguez -- (Dalton) 21:30; second, Guadalupe Martinez (Southeast) -- 22:21; third, Esmeralda Rangel (Dalton) -- 22:57; fourth, Ella Belle Coley (Coahulla Creek) -- 23:10; fifth, Kelly Mashburn (Dalton) -- 23:10; sixth, Lindsey Guess (Northwest) -- 23:48; seventh, Betsy Perez (Dalton) -- 24:09; eighth, Andrea Magana (Dalton) -- 24:12; ninth and Mayra Meraz (Dalton) -- 24:20; tenth.
