Coahulla Creek and Dalton High School both took home wins at the North Georgia Cross Country League Championships on Thursday at Heritage.
Thursday's race served as the fourth and final one of the league's season in which the times from each race were averaged to determine the champions. Dalton's girls team and Coahulla Creek's boys team each won titles, while Kaylee Bandy and Lane Hollis each won individual titles for Coahulla Creek.
Two all-league teams were made from the top 20 runners for the boys and girls who participated in all four races, as the top 10 made first-team and runners No. 11 through 20 were named to the second team.
Giselle Dominguez was third, Andrea Magana was seventh, Myra Meraz was eighth and Karen Lopez was ninth for the Dalton girls on the first team. Also for the Lady Catamounts, Betsy Perez was 11th, Veronica Martinez was 13th, Kelly Mashburn was 14th and Maddie King was 17th, receiving second-team honors.
For the Dalton boys, DJ Hutchinson was third and Victor Soria was eighth on the first team. Jose Beltran was 20th to receive second-team honors.
Thursday's race was sponsored by Fast Break Athletics for their Fast Break Challenge.
The Dalton girls finished second, with five runners finishing in the top 20. Dominguez was fourth, Magana was 12th, Perez was 18th, Meraz was 19th and Martinez was 20th.
The Dalton boys finished fourth, as Hutchinson was fourth and Soria was 14th individually.
