High school cross country roundup: Coahulla Creek has another strong race, Southeast girls place first

Coahulla Creek High School had another strong showing as its runners raced on Saturday at the Wingfoot Cross Country Classic at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville.

For the boys, Lane Hollis finished first individually out of 227 runners with a time of 16:32. The boys team finished fourth out of 29 teams as Harris Gallegly, 17:53; Tanner Rape, 18:01; Andrew Stamper, 18:13; and Devin Edwards, 18:37, also scored for the Colts.

For the Lady Colts, Kaylee Bandy finished second overall with a time of 19:46. Also scoring were Ella Coley, 22:50; Kathryn Mayfield, 25:09; April Cruz, 26:19; and Pare Chalamaneeporn, 26:29. The girls team finished 11th out of 17 teams.

Southeast Whitfield

The Southeast Whitfield Lady Raiders placed first out of five teams on Tuesday at the Hurry Back Invitational at Gilmer High School.

The top runners were Lupita Martinez, second place; Marlene Paez, sixth; Lizeth Cortez, seventh; Ally Brown, 11th; and Carla Gaspar, 12th.
