High school cross country: Southeast girls, boys team each finish in top 20 at state meet

The Southeast Whitfield High School boys and girls cross country teams both ran at the Class 4A state championship meet on Friday morning at Carrollton High, each finishing in the top 20 as a team.

The Lady Raiders' team place 12th out of 32 teams at the meet, with the five scoring runners each finishing in the top 100. Out of 215 runners, Guadalupe Martinez finished in 37th place; 21:56.21, Marlene Paez finished in 64th place; 23:04.18, Nicole Brown finished in 90th place; 24:04.11, Lizeth Cortez finished in 92nd place; 24:09.42, Marissa Gonzalez finished in 96th place; 24:17.42, Jessica Ruiz finished in 160th place; 26:45.66 and Nancy Altamitano finished in 163rd place; 26:57.79.

The Raiders' team placed 19th out of 32 teams. Out of 222 runners individually, Angel Garcia finished in 52nd place; 18:09.86, Noah Aguilar finished in 109th place; 19:30.55, Axel Salaices finished in 116th place; 19:41.54, Pedro Morales finished in 124th place; 19:53.95, Chris Smith finished in 170th place; 20:46.93, Mateo Triana finished in 182th place; 21:15.19 and Anthony Herrera finished in 189th place; 21:44.16.
