North Murray 3, Murray County 2

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, North Murray High School recorded two outs to hold on for a win over county and region-rival Murray County on Thursday night, 3-2.

After Erin Blankenship caught a pop up, catcher Kaylee Higgins recorded the final out on a double play for the Lady Mountaineers (8-5, 2-4 in Region 6-3A) as she tagged Murray County's Natalie O'Neal on an attempt to steal home.

The game was tied at two runs apiece when North Murray took the lead in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI-single from Kaitlin Smith. Abby Young finished 2-for-3 to lead the Lady Mountaineers. Talli Burgess picked up the win, finishing with seven strikeouts in all seven innings pitched.

Alyssa Usrey led the Lady Indians (4-12, 0-5 in Region 6-3A) going 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored. O'Neal took the loss in all seven innings pitched.

Murray County hosts Gordon Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while North Murray plays in the Score Tournament on Saturday at Warner Park in Chattanooga.

Coahulla Creek 1, Haralson County 0

Sophia Voyles pitched all seven innings and recorded six strikeouts as Coahulla Creek shut out Haralson County on the road Thursday night, 1-0.

The game was scoreless until RJ Janke hit her fifth home run of the season for the Lady Colts (7-6, 2-4 in Region 6-3A) on a solo shot to left field in the top of the seventh inning. Voyles has 109 strikeouts through 74 innings pitched so far this year.

Coahulla Creek plays in the Score Tournament today and Saturday at Warner Park in Chattanooga.

Sonoraville 3, Northwest Whitfield 2 (10 innings)

Sonoraville edged out Northwest on Thursday as it scored one run in the top of the 10th inning for the win, 3-2.

Shaylen Sutton lasted all 10 innings for the Lady Bruins (14-3, 6-2 in Region 6-4A) to take the loss and had five strikeouts. She also led the team at the plate, going 2-for-5.

Northwest plays in the Score Tournament today and Saturday at Warner Park in Chattanooga.

Creekview 14, Dalton 1 (four innings)

Dalton fell on the road to Creekview on Thursday, 14-1.

Keen Johnson, Aliza Martinez and Natalie Moya each had one hit for the Lady Catamounts (8-10, 5-10 in Region 6-6A).

Dalton hosts Sprayberry at noon on Saturday.

Trion 9, Christian Heritage 1 (six innings)

Christian Heritage fell to Trion at home on Thursday night, 9-1.

Elisa Castello led the team finishing 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Katie Bagley was also 2-for-3. Tatiana Chiesa took the loss for the Lady Lions (6-7, 1-5 in Region 6-A) after pitching five innings.

Christian Heritage hosts Mount Zion at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Pickens 15, Southeast Whitfield 4 (five innings)

Southeast fell on the road to Pickens on Thursday night, 15-4.

Lily Phillips was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double to lead the Lady Raiders (2-16, 0-9 in Region 6-4A). Lauren Taylor had a triple and Kaylee Taylor was 2-for-2.

Southeast hosts Pepperell at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
