Northwest Whitfield 10, Southeast Whitfield 5

Northwest Whitfield came out on top in a back-and-forth scoring battle with region and county-rival Southeast on Tuesday on the road, 10-5.

Northwest held a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning. The Lady Raiders (2-15, 0-8 in Region 6-4A) then scored four runs to take the lead, 4-2. Northwest tied the game with two runs in top of the fourth at four runs apiece when Southeast added one run in the fifth for the lead once more. The Lady Bruins (14-2, 6-2 in Region 6-4A) took back the lead with three runs in the sixth and sealed it with three more in the seventh.

Alyson Jarvi hit a three-run home run and finished the night 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored for Northwest. Molly Middleton was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, and Kate Hannah was 3-for-4. Shaylen Sutton was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Destin Jewell picked up the win in circle.

Emma Long hit a two-run home run, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Southeast. Lily Phillips was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Mayliah Williams also had two hits. Kaylee Taylor took the loss, pitching all seven innings.

Northwest hosts Sonoraville at 5 p.m. on Thursday, while Southeast travels to Pickens for a game at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.

Sequoyah 8, Dalton 0 (five innings)

Dalton struggled on offense, recording two hits, as it fell to Sequoyah on Tuesday night at home, 8-0.

Emily Brunson took the loss and also recorded one hit. Aliza Martinez had the other hit for the Lady Catamounts (8-9, 5-9 in Region 6-6A).

Dalton travels to Creekview for a game at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.

Monday results

Southeast Whitfield 8, Model 0 (six innings)

Southeast shut out Model at home on Monday, 8-0.

Kaylee Taylor was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Brooke Taylor was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Williams was 3-for-4 with one RBI to lead the Lady Raiders. Long was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Kaylee Taylor picked up with the win with six strikeouts.
