Northwest Whitfield 11, Ridgeland 1 (five innings)
After one frame, Northwest was trailing Thursday night, but it came back strong to earn another win on the season over Ridgeland, 11-1.
Northwest scored four runs in the bottom of the first and seven in the second inning.
Alex Smith earned the win for the Lady Bruins (13-2, 5-2 in Region 6-4A) by throwing the first four innings. She also finished a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Torrey Cummings was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Payton Tuder finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.
Northwest travels to Southeast Whitfield for a game at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
Coahulla Creek 1, Murray County 0 (eight innings)
McKinley Staten scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning as Coahulla Creek topped Murray County at home Thursday night in a defensive battle, 1-0.
Coahulla Creek had the bases loaded with one out when Staten was able to sneak through for the win.
Sophia Voyles pitched all eight innings for the Lady Colts (6-6, 1-4 in Region 6-3A) and recorded 12 strikeouts and just two walks to earn her team's first region win of the season. Tatum Poe was a perfect 4-for-4 to lead the offense.
Natalie O'Neal took the loss for the Lady Indians (5-10, 0-4 in Region 6-3A) pitching the entire game. Brooklyn Gonzalez was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Murray County hosts Dade County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Coahulla Creek travels to Cartersville for a game at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Harrison 10, Dalton 2 (five innings)
Harrison scored three runs in the first inning, and Dalton could never recover as it fell on the road on Thursday, 10-1.
Hope Parker took the loss in 3 1/3 innings for the Lady Catamounts (8-9, 5-8 in Region 6-6A), recording three strikeouts. She also had one hit along with Emily Brunson, Zoe Dales and Jazmin Rodriguez.
Dalton hosts Sequoyah at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
LaFayette 12, Southeast Whitfield 0 (four innings)
Emma Long had a double for one of three hits as Southeast Whitfield fell on the road to LaFayette on Thursday night, 12-0.
The Lady Raiders (1-14, 0-8 in Region 6-4A) host Model at 5 p.m. on Monday.
