High school sports roundup: Creek girls, boys pick up win in regular season finale

Girls

Christian Heritage 70, Gordon Lee 65 (double overtime)

It took two overtimes, but the Lady Lions beat Gordon Lee at home, 70-65. For Christian Heritage, Haddie Chambless had 25 points and 13 rebounds; Faith Humphrey went for 23 points, eight rebounds and five steals; and Madison Brown contributed 15 points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Lions are 15-5, 8-3 Region 6-A.

Coahulla Creek 67, Haralson 38

On senior night, Coahulla Creek topped Haralson, 67-38. For the Lady Colts, Katelyn Richards scored 21 points while Brinkley Kate Reed had 13 points.

The Lady Colts are 19-5, 11-5 Region 6-4A.

Murray County 67, Adairsville 42

The Lady Indians got a road win over Adairsville, 67-42. For Murray County, Mattie Nuckolls had 21 points, 10 rebounds and three steals while Jordan Swanson scored 19 points.

The Lady Indians are 9-15, 6-10 Region 6-3A.

Boys

Christian Heritage 58, Gordon Lee 40

The Lions defeated Gordon Lee, 58-40. For Christian Heritage, Nash Bingham and Drew Clements each had 15 points; William Green went for 11 points, six assists and five steals; and Evan Lester contributed 10 and 11 rebounds.

The Lions are 20-2, 11-2 Region 6-A. They host North Cobb Christian tonight at 6 with the winner of the game is the No. 1 seed in the sub-region.

Coahulla Creek 75, Haralson 51

The Colts got the victory at home on senior night over Harlason, 75-51. Riley Mutter led Coahulla Creek with 19 points and Barrett Barbre and Gage Seibenhener each scored 12 points.

The Colts are 10-14, 7-10 Region 6-3A.

Murray County 55, Adairsville 47

The Indians beat Adairsville, 55-47, on the road. For Murray County, Haden Newport had 19 points and 13 rebounds; Cade Petty went for 12 points and seven rebounds; and Carson Weaver scored 11 points.

The Indians are 18-6, 10-5 Region 6-3A

North Murray 44, Sonoraville 26

North Murray wrapped up a perfect region run with a 44-26 victory over Sonoraville on the road. For the Mountaineers, Ladd McConkey had 19 points and Landon Burrell and Ethan Lederer each had nine points.

The Mountaineers are 20-5, 16-0 Region 6-3A. They host the region tournament next week but won't play until Friday.

Girls

Southeast Whitfield 2, North Murray 1

In a scrimmage, the Lady Raiders topped North Murray with a goal in the final moments of the game for a 2-1 win. For Southeast, Lesley Alanis and Karla Hernandez each had one goal.

Boys

Dalton 7, Northwest Whitfield 1

Dalton beat Northwest Whitfield in a scrimmage at Harmon Field, 7-1. For the Catamounts, Yahir Paez scored two goals while five players had one goal: Uriel Mendoza, Miguel Perez, Manny Prieto, Damian Rodriguez and Jeremiah Zuniga.
