Northwest Whitfield High School ended its volleyball season on Wednesday with a loss at Woodward Academy in College Park in a second-round Class 4A playoffs best-of-five match.

The Lady Bruins (31-11) pushed Woodward to four sets but came up short in the end, 17-25, 25-21, 14-25, 14-25.

Emma Allen finished with six kills, nine assists and 13 digs to lead the team, while Emma Hayes had five kills, two blocks and nine digs. Abigail Crawford added seven kills.

"We played our butts off, but it just wasn't our day," Northwest coach Kelsey Ikerd said. "Woodward played about as well as they could have, and we just gave up too many scoring runs.

"I'm proud of our girls for how they performed this season."
