Christian Heritage 2, North Murray 0

Christian Heritage picked up two wins on Thursday after defeating Coahulla Creek, 25-19, 25-13, and North Murray 25-21, 25-22, at Coahulla Creek.

Sophia Waugh led the Lady Lions (7-7) with 10 kills, 12 assists, eight digs, one ace and one block. Caitlin Brock was close behind with 10 kills, 17 assists, three aces and two digs. Gracie Hill finished with 19 digs, two aces and three kills. Athena Critides had 10 kills and one assist.

With the wins, Christian Heritage has already bettered its record of 6-22 from last season. It plays in the Volley at the Creek tournament on Saturday at Coahulla Creek.

North Murray 2, Coahulla Creek 0

North Murray topped Coahulla Creek in each team's first region match of the season, 25-17, 25-22.

Cady Wheat led the Lady Mountaineers (5-7, 1-0 in Region 6-3A) with 16 kills and four aces. Summer Johnston had 18 assists and two kills, while Korbin Tipton finished with four kills, three aces and two blocks.

Ema Turner led the Lady Colts (1-12, 0-1 in Region 6-3A) with eight kills, four digs and two aces. Brooklyn Jacobs had nine assists, five aces, five digs and four kills. Kirsten Hixson finished with 13 assists, two digs and one assist. Marlee Fossett had nine digs, two kills and two aces. Jacey Callahan had three kills, two digs and one ace.

Coahulla Creek hosts the Volley at the Creek tournament on Saturday with North Murray.

Northwest Whitfield 2, Rome 0

Northwest Whitfield 2, Cass 0

Northwest picked up wins over Cass, 25-12, 25-21, and over Rome, 25-10, 25-17, on Thursday night at Rome.

Emma Allen led the Lady Bruins (14-2) with 12 kills, 14 assists and seven digs. Kiera Hughes had 23 assists and eight aces, while Emma Hayes added 11 kills. Kiersten Maynard finished with eight digs and 11 aces, while Nicole Thurman had four blocks and Camryn Humble had six digs.

Northwest plays on Saturday at the Darlington Tournament.

Paulding County 2, Southeast Whitfield 1

Sonoraville 2, Southeast Whitfield 0

Southeast fell to Paulding County in three sets, 25-23, 23-25, 4-15, and to Sonoraville, 13-25, 3-25 at Sonoraville Thursday night.

Anna Boyd finished with seven kills for the Lady Raiders (2-12). Lisette Gomez had nine assists and seven digs, while Vanessa Gomez finished with seven digs and two aces. Heaven Cooper had five kills and one block.

Southeast plays in the Volley at the Creek tournament on Saturday at Coahulla Creek.
