Dalton split two matches on Tuesday at the Region 6-6A tournament at Sequoyah.

The Lady Catamounts (21-17) fell in their first-round match to River Ridge, 16-25, 19-25. They dropped to the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament and then defeated Sprayberry, 25-10, 25-7.

Dalton moves on to play an elimination match at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday against either Harrison or Allatoona. A win would give the team a spot in the Class 6A playoffs.

For the day, Kaysen Welsh finished with seven kills, 13 assists, six digs and seven aces. Tessa Townsend had three kills, nine assists, eight digs and five aces, while Chloe Swaney had one kill, one assist and six digs. Jaleya Westfield chipped in with four digs.

North Murray 2, Murray County 0

North Murray defeated Murray County in its final regular-season match and senior night on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-14.

The Lady Mountaineers (10-12, 3-1 in Region 6-3A) had multiple contributors including seniors Korbin Tipton with three kills, two digs and one ace and Cady Wheat with four kills. Senior Julie Petty had three assists and two aces, while Summer Johnston added two aces and five assists. Evelyn Gomez had two digs and one ace, while Macy Isbell had two aces.

North Murray begins play in the region tournament on Saturday at Murray County.

Coahulla Creek 3, Morris Innovative 0

Coahulla Creek defeated Morris Innovative on Tuesday night in a best three-out-of-five match, 25-12, 25-13, 25-15.

Brooklyn Jacobs had 12 digs and five aces for the Lady Colts, Jamiry Martinez had 14 aces, and Haley Marie had eight assists. Ema Turner finished with eight kills.

Coahulla Creek plays at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Murray County in a Region 6-3A tournament play-in match.
