Northwest will play for a Region 6-4A championship and hope to win its third in a row after winning its first-round match over Southeast Whitfield on Thursday, 25-11, 25-8.
The Lady Bruins (30-9) await their opponent for the championship match, but do know they will play at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Heritage for the title.
On Thursday, Emma Hayes had seven kills, and Emma Allen had seven assists, two blocks and five aces. Kiara Hughes finished with eight assists, while Lexie Douhne had four kills. Abigail Crawford finished with five aces, and Sam Johnson and Kiersten Maynard each had four digs.
The Lady Raiders (6-30) end their season.
Southeast Whitfield 2, Pickens 1
Southeast advanced to its match with Northwest by winning a play-in match over Pickens, 25-15, 16-25, 15-7.
For the night, Anna Boyd finished with five kills and 10 digs, while Stephanie Sullivan also had 10 digs. Vanessa Gomez had seven assists and seven digs, while AnnaMaria Ramsey finished with eight digs and four kills.
Murray County 3, Coahulla Creek 0
Murray County advances to the Region 6-3A tournament on Saturday on its home court as it defeated Coahulla Creek in a play-in match on Thursday, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.
For the Lady Colts, Brooklyn Jacobs had eight assists, six kills and three aces. Jamiry Martinez finished with four aces and three kills, while Ema Turner had six kills and two aces. Sierra Simpkins and Jalisia Famber each added two kills and two blocks.
Coahulla Creek ends its season. Murray County plays Ringgold at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Allatoona 2, Dalton 0
Dalton fell just short of a trip to the playoffs as it ended its season on Thursday in a Region 6-6A tournament match against Allatoona, 20-25, 19-25.
Kaysen Welsh had one kill, five assists and five digs, while Tessa Townsend finished with three kills, two assists, one dig and one block for the Lady Catamounts (22-19). Abby O'Ferrall added two kills, two digs and one ace.
Dalton will lose seniors Chloe Swaney, Janayah Christopher and Jaleya Westfield to graduation.
