Dalton State 88, Brewton-Parker 79
On Senior Day on Saturday, the No. 5-ranked Roadrunners used a dominant first half to defeat Brewton-Parker College, 88-79, at Mashburn Arena inside the Dalton Convention Center.
Dalton State improved to 26-2, 14-2 Southern States Athletic Conference.
Four Roadrunners scored in double figures: Kevon Tucker (21), Rodley Adjei (18), C.J. Perry (14), Randy Bell (13) and Dauson Womack (11, with 11 rebounds).
Dalton State led 48-32 at halftime and held the rebounding advantage 42-19.
Dalton State finishes the regular season on the road against No. 10 Faulkner University (Montgomery, Alabama) on Thursday and at Middle Georgia State University (Cochran) on Saturday, Feb. 29.
The SSAC Tournament is March 4-7 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Southeast Whitfield 11, North Murray 5
One day after scoring a lone run in a win over North Murray, Southeast's bats came alive. On Saturday, the Raiders defeated North Murray in Chatsworth, 11-5.
For Southeast, Heath Jenkins was 1-3 with a run scored; Bryson Lofton went 2-3 with two doubles and four RBIs; Marc Mireles was 2-4 with three runs scored; Johnny Vega went 1-5 with two runs scored; and D.J. Worthy went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs.
On the mound for Southeast, Adam Sowder pitched five innings, giving up three hits and no earned runs while striking out six.
Colby Patterson closed out the game by tossing a scoreless and hitless final two innings while striking out four batters.
High school boys golf
Christian Heritage School finished second in the South Georgia High School Classic, one stroke behind winner Valwood School, at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta.
Christian Heritage shot a 310, a shot off Valwood's 309. Scorers for the Lions were Jack Stafford (72, named to the all-tournament team), Tucker Jordan (75), Mason Cady (79) and Andrew Jenkins (84).
The Dalton High School team trekked a mountainous course after a chilly start to claim a third place finish out of 22 teams in the Coal Mountain Invitational at Hampton Golf Village in Cumming.
They had a team score in the Stableford tournament of 135. Counting scores included Camden Campbell (39 points), Ethan Day (38 points), Wyatt Brackett (32 points) and Clay Walker (26 points).
Also playing were Alex Kerr with 21 points and Jackson Simmons with 20 points. Rivers Academy won the event with a score of 166 and West Forsyth placed second with a score of 138.

Northwest Whitfield 10, Calhoun 1
On Friday night, Northwest beat Calhoun, 10-1, at home behind five goals from Nicolas Cuna and three goals by Fabian Navarro.
Also scoring goals for Northwest were Alexander Jimenez and Fabian Lara.
