Make that a dozen wins in a row for the Dalton State College Roadrunners basketball team.
The No. 6-ranked Roadrunners beat Martin Methodist College (Pulaski, Tennessee) on Saturday, coming back from a halftime deficit for the 75-71 victory. The streaking Roadrunners ran their record to 19-1, 8-1 Southern States Athletic Conference. Martin Methodist fell to 11-8, 4-5 SSAC.
It was the final game of an undefeated three-game road swing for the Roadrunners, who picked up wins over No. 17 Loyola (New Orleans, Louisiana) and No. 24 William Carey (Hattiesburg, Mississippi).
Kevon Tucker led Dalton State in scoring with 19 points, while Dauson Womack had 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guards Randy Bell and Sean Cranney each scored 11 points while Rodley Adjei contributed 10 points. Aaron Burress pitched in eight points and seven rebounds.
Dalton State trailed at the half, but outscored Martin Methodist in the second half.
The Roadrunners take on Stillman College (12-5, 5-4 SSAC) out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The game is on campus at Bandy Gym instead of at the Dalton Convention Center. Admission is $5.
