Dalton State College's Randy Bell puts up a shot as Fisk University's Anthony Hassell defends Tuesday night in Mashburn Arena at the Dalton Convention Center.

The Dalton State College Roadrunners have raced towards the top of the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, climbing to No. 6 from No. 19 in the latest rankings released Wednesday.

The Roadrunners, 16-1, 5-1 in the Southeastern States Athletic Conference, are riding a nine-game winning streak. Georgetown (Kentucky), which is 15-0 and received all nine first place votes, is ranked No. 1. This is the second poll of the season.

This is Dalton State's highest ranking since the final poll of the 2016-2017 season when the Roadrunners checked in at No. 5. The last time Dalton State was in the top-10 was the preseason poll for the 2017-2018 season when they were ranked No. 6.

The path toughens for the Roadrunners as they begin a three-game road trip that includes two ranked opponents. Over the next two weeks, Dalton State takes on No. 24 William Carey (Mississippi) on Saturday, No. 17 Loyola (Louisiana) on Monday and Martin Methodist (Tennessee) on Saturday, Jan. 25.

They will be back at home on Thursday, Jan. 30, against Stillman (Alabama) and Saturday, Feb. 1, against Mobile (Alabama). Both games are on campus at Bandy Gymnasium.
