The No. 3-ranked Dalton State College Roadrunner basketball team won its 17th-straight game of the season Wednesday night with an 83-75 victory over Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. With the nonconference win, the Roadrunners' record improved to 24-1, 12-1 SSAC.
Sophomore Rodley Adjei paced the Roadrunners with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists while Kevon Tucker, the reigning SSAC Player of the Week, went for 22 points and five rebounds. C.J. Perry contributed 16 points, Dauson Womack had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Aaron Burress went for six points and seven rebounds.
The Roadrunners held a two-point advantage at halftime (39-37) and outscored Fisk 44-38 in the second half. Dalton State had 16 turnovers compared to Fisk's six, but dominated the boards with a 45-34 rebounding advantage.
The Roadrunners haven't lost since Nov. 23, 2019, in an 81-78 overtime loss to Middle Georgia State University at the Dalton Convention Center. This past Saturday, this Dalton State team broke the 2016-17 squad's record of 15 wins in a row. That team went 29-5 and made the Round of 8 in the NAIA Tournament.
Dalton State hosts Martin Methodist College (Pulaski, Tennessee) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the convention center. The Roadrunners won the teams' first matchup, 75-71, on Jan. 25 on the road.
