Roadrunners win again, push their record to 17-1

The No.6-ranked Dalton State Roadrunners are living up to their nickname.

Dalton State traveled to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where they picked up the 75-67 win Saturday over No. 24 William Carey University to stay undefeated on the road. The victory was the Roadrunners' tenth in a row, moving their season record to 17-1, 6-1 Southern States Athletic Conference.

Guard Randy Bell once again led the Roadrunners as he scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He went 7-12 from the floor and 14-20 from the free throw line. Also for Dalton State, C.J. Perry had 11 points while Kevon Tucker scored 10 points.

Dalton State trailed William Carey at the half, 32-28, but outscored its opponent 47-35 in the second half for the eight-point win. It was a sloppy game, as the teams combined for 52 turnovers (31 from William Carey) and 46 fouls.

The Roadrunners play the second of a three-game road swing against No. 17 Loyola University (New Orleans, Louisiana) on Monday and then take on Martin Methodist (Pulaski, Tennessee) on Saturday.

Dalton State returns for home games on Thursday, Jan. 30, against Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) and Saturday, Feb. 1, against the University of Mobile (Alabama). Both games are on campus at Bandy Gymnasium.
