The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation hosts its 27th annual golf invitational on Monday, Oct. 21, at The Farm. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the development of patient care programs for Peeples Cancer Institute.

As the fundraising entity of Hamilton Health Care System, the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation invests in capital projects, community health initiatives, technological advancements and innovative programs and services to improve health care in the region. The golf tournament is one of the foundation's primary fundraisers. Sponsorship opportunities and team tournament entry forms can be accessed on the foundation's website at HamiltonHealth.com/golfinvitational or by phone at (706) 272-6128.

Business promotion is offered to all sponsors on the foundation's website and event sponsor banner. Cart sponsors also will have on course cart signs while hole sponsors will have signage at specific holes. The foundation is hosting a silent auction, and area businesses, retailers and restaurants who donate silent auction gifts are offered promotion at the event and on the foundation's website. Silent auction donors are encouraged to include promotional information that can be made available to participants at the event. The sponsorship deadline is Friday, Oct. 11, for inclusion on the tournament banner.

"As anticipation builds for the opening of Peeples Cancer Institute, the foundation is strongly committed to supporting the latest advances in cancer treatment as well as innovative support programs for patients navigating the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis," said Scott Sellers, foundation board chairman. "Our golf invitational is critical to these efforts, and we encourage members of our community to participate through team play and sponsorships."

Jane Snipes, foundation executive director, praises participants.

"The generosity of our sponsors and players is invaluable to us," she said. "We enjoy the opportunity to honor our sponsors by giving their businesses exposure to our community and players, while celebrating our players with exceptional tee gifts."

TEAM Health, a company which provides administrative and staffing services to Hamilton's Emergency Care Department, is the invitational's presenting sponsor. Brasfield & Gorrie serves as a premier sponsor, and Hoar Construction and T.U. Parks Construction are supporting the tournament as patron level sponsors. Alston & Bird, BMW of Chattanooga, Engineered Floors, Realty Trust Group, Elliott Davis, Enfinity Engineering, Tito's Handmade Vodka, HMI Corp., Dalton Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa, CBA, Gold Key Lock & Security, Precision Chemical and Paper Supply, Sodexo, Sydnie Horton Design, Snipes Orthodontics and Pollock & Associates, round out the list of principal sponsors.

As part of its sponsorship, Engineered Floors is hosting a Titleist Pro Shop in which players can select a complimentary tee gift package in advance of the tournament from choices online with Titleist/Footjoy, and the tee gifts will be presented to each player at the tournament or shipped to them afterwards. BMW of Chattanooga is sponsoring the tournament's hole-in-one prizes, and Tito's Handmade Vodka will host a 19th hole awards reception.

The tournament begins at 10 a.m. with player sign-in and the opening of the putting greens and practice range. A lunch buffet opens at 11 a.m., and tournament play kicks off with a four-man select shot beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Tito's 19th hole reception immediately follows completion of play will feature awards and prizes presented to the first, second and third place teams in each of the four flights. Prizes also will be given for on-course contests including hole-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive.
