Southeast High School’s rocky start continued Tuesday as the Raiders suffered a 70-51 non-region loss at Walker Valley (Tenn.)

Mart Stidman led the Raiders (0-4) with 24 points and senior Isaiah Tibbs chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Raiders are off for a few days before visiting Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in their Region 7-4A opener on Friday night.

NCC 79, CHS 46: The Lions fell to 3-3 in Marietta against North Cobb Christian.

Tyler Watkins had 26 points and Damien Chaney chipped in 10, while Matt Shaw led NCC with 26.

The Lions won 75-63 over the weekend against Greenfield the Westview Invitational in Martin, Tenn., getting a 40-point effort from Watkins and 20 from Chaney.

Walker Valley girls 64, Southeast 26: Ana Jones 6 and Bre Johnson each scored six points for the Lady Raiders (1-3). Shonda Smith had 12 points and Ashley Alverson 10 for Walker Valley.

CHS girls 61, North Cobb Christian 56: Savana Southerland had 20 points and 10 rebounds to pace Christian Heritage (3-1).

Elizabeth Henderson added 17 points and seven rebounds while Katie Nagel added eight points and Hope McKinney six points and six rebounds for the Lady Lions.


Dalton boys 104, Adairsville 35: Chris Woods won the 200 freestyle (2:17.83) and 100 freestyle (53.56) for the Catamounts (3-0).

Woods joined Austin Mobley, Alec Jordan and Zach Broome to win the 200 medley relay (1:55.67). Woods, Broome, Jordan and Michael Lovingood won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:43.27.

Alec Jordan won the 50 free (25.42) and 100 butterfly (1:13.20). Mobley captured the 200 individual medley (2:27.92) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.26) and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay (4:15.83) with Cody Parker, Lovingood and Kevin Franey.

Franey won the 500 free (7:12.56) and Parker took the 100 backstroke (1:19.10).

Dalton girls 77, Adairsville 72: Caitlin Hollen posted wins in the 200 free (2:39.04), 500 free (7:12.56) and helped Kelly Bond, Pryce Scarborough and Haley Volhein win the 200 medley relay and joined Bond, Volhein and Scarborough win the 200 free relay (2:07.28).

Scarborough had state qualifying wins in the 200 IM (2:18.17) and 100 butterfly (1:03.33).

Bree Dosch won the 100 free in 1:06.71.

The Lady Cats are 2-1.


Middle Schools

Bagley 69, Eastbrook 18: Ryan Cox (72 pounds), Josh Webb (78), Zach Shoemaker (94), Dalton Lane (100), Zach James (108), Tyler Hawkins (115), Justin Saylor (140), Justin Chastain (154), Skyler Young (165), Mickery Guerrero (180) and Temon Carnes (220) all posted pins for the Braves.

Jonathan Olinger (140) posted a 22-16 decision for Bagley.

Bagley 43, McCallie 42: Shoemaker, Lane, Chastain, Young and Guerrero had wins for the Braves (10-0).

Dalton 43, North Whitfield 39: Luis Juan (72), Jose Garcia (123), Harris News (130) and Renaldo Torres (140) posted pins for the Cougars (3-0, 3-1).

Gerardo Soto (108) won by a technical fall while Austin Duckett (154) and Tyler Burrow (275) both won by forfeit.

North Whitfield winners by pin were Tyler Blansit (78), Dustin Pendergrass (100), Adam Selby (165) and Jemusson Flores (180). Alex Bishop (86) won by technical violation and Brandon Harris (94) had a decision.


Middle schools

Seventh Grade Boys

Valley Point 40, Eastbrook 30: Carter Gillian scored 26 points and Matt Cobb pitched in eight to lead the Green Waves on Monday night.

Seventh Grade Girls

Eastbrook 38, Valley Point 15: Brianna Coppock pumped in 24 points for Eastbrook and teammate Sierra Cheney added 14 as the Lady Mustangs improved to 2-1.

Eighth Grade Boys

Valley Point 36, Eastbrook 35: On Monday night, Omar Altamirano led Valley Point with 14 points and Anthony Suarez and Drake Stone contributed 11 and eight, respectively.

Eighth Grade Girls

Eastbrook 21, Valley Point 17: Briana Sosebee led Eastbrook (2-1) with 10 points and Ashley Strong had 10 for Valley Point on Monday night.

Correction: In a boys game Monday, Jake White led Bagley with 12 points.
